Scope of work
We excavated the site to ground level using the soldier pile concept to retain the hillside and constructed the four storey building, backfilling as we went. Three sides of the building act as retaining walls.

Challenges
The site had very limited working space and traffic management became an important part of the construction process. We were also required to allow the public to walk through what working space we had on weekends, so temporary fencing and hazard elimination was a task for every Friday afternoon.

Highlights 
We built a nicely detailed anchor building at the start of Marine Parade in time for the clients to move in during the Christmas break, without allowing the hillside to slip across the road to the Port.
