New Zealand Institute of Architects Resene Local Award 2005 Community and Cultural Napier Ocean Spa ASC Architects "This project, sited on a narrow reserve strip of land on Napier’s waterfront, between Marine Parade and the sea, clearly recognises its position and successfully links the city to the ocean. A strong concept is evident in the arrangement of the public spaces. The transparency of the building and pool complex, further reinforced by a good use of appropriate materials and sympathetic roof shapes, makes it a very pleasant and obviously popular facility." - Judges' comments
New Zealand Institute of Architects Resene Local Award for Architecture 2004 Residential Category Luoni House James Jack Architects "A series of floating roof planes suspended over a very steep site serve to define, protect and anchor this stunning new house on its cliff-side site. The tightness of the site is carried through into the definition and placement of building elements and even into the articulation of internal spaces. As one moves through the house, one is consistently reminded that this is a house on the edge." - Judges' comments
